Want to become a member?

Membership in the Jackson Equity Project (JEP) is by invitation only. Often, a person being considered for membership is invited by a current member to attend one or more general meetings to learn more about the work of the Jackson Equity Project.

Qualifications for Membership:

  • Be passionate about issues of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and active in advocating for such ethics in the Jackson-Madison County community

  • Have demonstrated a commitment to personal service through involvement in the community.

  • Be able to meet the organizations attendance and community project participation requirements.

  • Live or work within the vicinity of Jackson and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities for Membership:

  • Attend monthly general meetings, currently via Zoom.

  • Pay an annual due of $50

  • Participate in local JEP activities and projects

  • Aspire to leadership and committee service roles

Age and Attendance Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older to join.

  • You may be invited a s a Junior Member at 15, if you have the time and financial resources to meet all JEP Requirements, as well as parental consent.

  • College students are eligible for membership at a reduced membership fee of $15.

  • Grand fund has been established for those who need assistance with membership fees.

  • All members must attend at least 50% of scheduled general meetings, or engage in projects, events, and activities for at least 12 hours in each half of the year. A proportionate combination of both may be acceptable.
